At Shurgard we are here to help you store your valuable belongings safely and conveniently in one of our storage units.

Access to your storage unit is properly arranged with access codes and keys, parking places, spacious goods lifts and handy drive-in possibilities.

How do I access my storage unit?

When you start using your storage unit the manager at your Shurgard location will provide you with a personal electronic access code. You use this code to access the premises and your code allows you access to the area where your unit is located.

You are the only person with access to your storage unit, which is locked with a specifically designed secure cylinder lock. You own the lock and the matching keys. All our locations are monitored by security cameras placed in strategic positions.
What is the best way to bring my belongings to my storage unit?

All Shurgard locations have sufficient parking facilities to park at or next to the premises.

Many locations have a so-called “drive-in”: you can drive your vehicle directly into the premises and park inside to facilitate loading and unloading.

Some locations even have parking for large removal lorries.
When can I access my storage unit?

At all Shurgard locations you have free access seven days a week, 365 days a year. The standard access hours are between 7.00 and 21.00.
What is the difference between access hours and opening hours?

During opening hours, your on-site manager is available to provide you, as our customer, with personal service (for answering questions, selling materials and handling rental payments etc.).

The on-site manager is present six days a week. For the actual opening hours of your location, search for your facility in the list of all Shurgard locations.

You have free access to your storage unit during our standard access hours.
Can I access my storage unit directly with my vehicle?

Yes, Shurgard also offers storage units that are directly accessible by car or lorry.

These are located on the ground floor, often at the exterior of the premises, so that you can park your vehicle in front of your storage unit.
Are there trolleys or loading docks I can use at Shurgard facilities?

Yes, you can use the trolleys and loading docks (if present) at Shurgard for free to make loading and unloading as easy as possible.

To use our trolleys, customers need to insert a coin in the lock. You will get your coin back once you’ve chained the trolley back to the other ones.
