I used this storage facility in Basingstoke for about a year (originally when it was Lok’nStore, before Shurgard took over) whilst moving house out of the area, and overall I’ve had a really good experience. The staff are absolutely brilliant — the same friendly, helpful team who always go out of their way to assist and make things easy. They really are what makes this place great.
Pricing is generally fair and competitive, though I did notice that since the change in ownership the flexibility around deals and discounts isn’t quite what it used to be under Lok’nStore. That said, the quality of service and the convenience of the facility have remained excellent, and everything has always felt safe and well maintained.
Overall, I’m very happy with the service and would definitely recommend Shurgard if you’re looking for reliable storage with genuinely lovely staff.

Ed & Lara were both so helpful today. I had a DHL Collection, which I had travelled a long way to be there for. Both went out of their way to look after me and help me with anything which I needed & got me on my way home earlier than would've been possible without their help. A massive thankyou to both of you.🤩

The only complaint is they close at 4pm on a Saturday which, if you are moving house, is VERY early.

If you choose to store on the first floor like me then the lift works well and looks well maintained.
Lara on reception seems to run the whole show singlehandedly and accomplishes everything with ease. We have been marginally late leaving twice, but always left with a friendly wave!

We would totally recommend Shurgard at Basingstoke. Great service from Lara, Ed and Paulette. They are always helpful and knowledgeable. Lara and Ed thoroughly explained the process and showed us around which made deciding on what storage unit size we’d require much easier. Every time we visit they’re always welcoming. The units are well cleaned before you move anything in. 5 stars all the way!

The Staff at this location are excellent friendly and helpful. It is a shame that Shurgaurd took over the place and increased prices. Only other quark was the opening hours especially weekends when people are free to access personal spaces. But staff make this place a 5star.

I had a fantastic experience visiting Lock’n’Store Shurgard in Basingstoke today. Being new to self-storage, I had a lot of questions, but Claire was absolutely amazing. She showed me around the facility, explained everything clearly, and made the whole process feel so easy. Her friendly and professional approach gave me confidence that my belongings will be safe and secure here. The facility itself is clean, well-organised, and secure.
