When you’re preparing to leave your storage unit, there are a few steps to follow. From giving notice to delivering your unit, here’s what you need to know.

1. Give notice on your unit

You’ll need to provide your notice in writing before you plan to move out. This can be done by sending us a letter or an email to inform us about your plans.

We must receive your notice at least 30 days before your planned move out date.

2. Empty and sweep your unit

On move-out day, remove all your belongings from the unit and sweep it out so it’s left clean. Be sure to make use of our trolleys. They'll save time and energy when moving heavy items.

Afterwards, our store manager will inspect the unit to confirm nothing has been left behind and to verify that it’s in the same good condition as when you first rented it.

Please take all items with you, even those you no longer need. We’re unable to dispose of belongings for you.

3. Remove the lock

Your lock belongs to you, and only you have the key. Remember to take it with you when you move out. You might want to use it again in the future.

If you leave the lock on your unit, we’ll assume you’re still renting it and your contract will continue.

4. Notify the store manager

Once your unit is empty and clean, let the store manager know so they can check it.

As soon as they’re satisfied with its condition, they’ll close your contract and your rental will officially come to an end. And if you ever need storage in the future, we’ll be glad to help.

Do you simply need less storage space?

We can arrange that easily. If your needs have changed, there’s no need to move out. Instead, you can transfer to a smaller unit at any time. We don’t charge a transfer fee.

Just speak with your store manager, who will help you choose the right size and help you reserve your new unit.

What if your plans change?

We understand that plans can change. If you wish to keep your storage unit longer, just call or email your store manager to discuss your options and extend your rental.

Questions on moving out of your storage unit?

What happens if I don’t give notice in time?
If your notice is received less than 30 days before your planned move out date, your contract will automatically renew for another month. You will be charged for this full month, even if you move out earlier.

What if I haven’t moved out on the scheduled date?
If you haven’t vacated your unit by the agreed move-out date, your contract will automatically be extended. This means the Terms & Conditions as well as the notice period (at least 30 days before your planned move out date) are still applicable.

What if I leave items behind in my storage unit?
On move-out day, your unit must be empty and swept out. We can’t dispose of anything for you. Any items left behind will incur a removal fee.

What if I forget to remove my lock?
If you leave your storage unit locked, we’ll assume you’re still using the unit and your contract will carry on as normal.

What should I do with my lock?
Your lock belongs to you, and you alone have the key to it, so don’t forget to take it with you.

What if I want to extend or delay moving out?
We understand your plans may have changed, so extending your rental is no problem. Just let your store manager know you wish to keep your storage unit longer, and we can easily extend your rental for as long as you need.

Do I need to schedule an appointment with the store manager to move out?
No, there’s no need to make an appointment in advance. Simply let the store manager know that your unit is empty so they can inspect it and officially end your contract.

Can I transfer my belongings to a smaller unit instead of moving out?
Yes, you can transfer to a smaller unit at any time. We don’t charge a transfer fee. Just talk to your on-site manager. They’ll advise you on what size of unit would suit you better and help you reserve your new unit.
