Renting a Storage Unit

You can rent a storage unit online, by phone, or in-store:

• Online: select a storage location and unit, complete your contact and payment details to rent.
• By phone: you can either reserve a storage unit online, then our store manager will contact you to finalise the rental. Or you can just simply call us at 0800 000 1319 to rent.
• In-store: visit us to complete your rental in person. Check the store page for the office address and opening hours.

To rent a storage unit, you will need:

1. A valid photo ID
   Such as ID card, passport, or driving licence


2. Payment details
   We accept Visa, Mastercard, BanContact, Payconig by BanContact, Meastro, Paypal, Apple Pay and Google Pay


3. A mobile phone
   You will need it to complete the online identity verification via Itsme or by scanning your ID document

If you're renting on behalf of a business, you may also need to provide proof of your link with the company (e.g. a business card or official documentation).

Once you’ve completed your rental, here’s what happens next:

1. You’ll receive your contract
   We’ll email you your rental contract, insurance contract, and first invoice.


2. We’ll prepare your unit
   Before your move-in date, you’ll receive:


3. Move in with ease using our app
   On move-in day, simply head straight to your unit.
   Download the Shurgard app in the app stores or scan the QR code below to open gates, doors, and elevators with your phone.

• Reservation: we hold your chosen storage unit, price, and promotion for 30 days, free of charge and with no commitment. You’ll still need to sign your rental contract before you can move in.
• Online rental: you complete your contract and make your first payment online. You’re ready to move in immediately, without any paperwork at the store.are covered.

When you reserve your storage unit online, we’ll hold the unit, price, and promotion for you for 30 days.

There’s a one-off administration fee of € 20 for new customers. We waive this fee if you rent your storage unit online.

If you’ve taken out Marsh insurance policy, the insurance premium will be added to your monthly invoice. The amount depends on the declared value of your stored belongings.

No, the price for your storage unit is VAT exclusive.

We offer several convenient payment methods:

• When renting online or via the phone
  You can pay usingVisa, Mastercard, BanContact, Payconig by BanContact, Meastro, Paypal, Apple Pay and Google Pay.
• When renting in store
  We accept Visa, Mastercard, BanContact, or Meastro.

For your monthly invoices, you can pay via our secure online payment service or directly in the Shurgard app, usingVisa, Mastercard, BanContact, Payconig by BanContact, Meastro, Paypal, Apple Pay and Google Pay.

You can easily enable AutoPay in the app or ask your store manager to send you a link to set it up. It's a secure and convenient way to automatically pay your invoices every month.

If you miss a payment, we’ll send you reminders to settle your outstanding balance. Please note that a late payment may incur an additional fee.
