You can rent your storage unit for an initial period of one month. After this period, your contract will automatically be renewed on a monthly basis.
There is no maximum rental period. You can rent a storage unit for as long as you need. If you wish to move out of your unit, just make sure to give us notice at least 15 days before the start of the following billing period .
Because we offer flexible storage. We won’t ask you to commit to a move-out date upfront. You can stay as long as you need and give us notice when you’re ready to move out.
Notice must be given in writing, either by email, post, or directly at your Shurgard location. Include your name, unit number, and the cancellation date in your notice. Make sure we receive your notice at least .
Before you leave, please make sure your unit is completely empty and swept clean.
Don’t forget to remove your lock. If it’s left in place, your contract will automatically be extended.
Once your unit is empty, remove and keep your lock. You can reuse it anytime you decide to rent a unit at Shurgard in the future.
No, your storage unit must be completely empty and clean when you return it. Any items left behind will incur a removal fee.
If you haven’t vacated your unit by the agreed move-out date, your contract will automatically be extended. This means the Terms & Conditions as well as the notice period (at least 15 days before the start of the following billing period ) are still applicable.
We understand plans can change! If you decide to keep your storage unit longer, just let your store manager know, we’ll be happy to extend your rental.
Need less space? No problem, you can transfer to a smaller unit at no extra cost. We don’t charge a transfer fee.
