If you have a move or renovation planned, a storage unit is the perfect place to store your furniture and personal belongings.
If you're coming by (removal) van, it's good to know that one of our loading areas is 2m80 in height, the other 2m60. We have special container units for larger vehicles - an asset for self-employed people, businesses, webshops market stall-holders in the vicinity.
Security measures in place
At Shurgard, the electronic gate can only be opened with a personal PIN code. This code also gives you access to the floor of your storage unit.

You’re not tied to any rental period or unit
You decide how long you need your storage unit. You can rent a unit for a longer period or just for one week. There's no problem if your plans change - we won't charge you a cancellation fee.
You can also move to a larger or smaller unit at any time. Changing unit incurs no additional cost.

Below are the only extra costs you may need to pay:
- One-off admin fee of € 20: this amount is only applicable when you sign your first contract with us. Returning customers don't need to pay this fee.
- Insurance: for your own protection, you’ll need to get goods coverage for the belongings that you store with us. You can opt for a customised goods coverage policy starting at € 16 per month.
- Lock: to guarantee no one else can access your storage unit, you will need to buy a lock designed to fit a Shurgard storage unit at € 14,90. You can re-use this lock when you rent another storage unit at any Shurgard facility.

You can rent your storage unit for an initial period of one month. After this period, your contract will automatically be renewed on a monthly basis.

No, you only start paying when you sign your rental contract.

Upstairs storage units are often cheaper than those on the ground floor of the same size, so choose these if you don’t have a lot of bulky or heavy stuff to store, or if you don’t have to frequently move stuff in and out of your unit.
At Shurgard you can still conveniently access your upstairs storage unit with the help of our spacious lifts and trolleys.

Pretty much anything for personal and business reasons, such as furniture, clothes, sports equipment, archives and stock. There is a list of prohibited items in our Terms and Conditions. They include food and illegal, explosive, or hazardous materials.

You are the only person who can access your storage unit. You may also authorise someone else to access your unit on your behalf.
