Is Shurgard taking steps toward sustainability?

Yes, we’re more than just a storage company. We’re working every day to protect the planet, support our people, give back to communities, and run our business with integrity. Environmental We’re committed to reducing our impact on the environment. We’ve made big strides in cutting our carbon emissions and improving energy efficiency across our stores. We’re aiming for a 64% cut by 2030. We’ve upgraded all our stores with energy-saving LED lighting. We continue to expand the use of solar panels and explore battery storage, so we can use more of the clean energy we produce. We’re replacing gas heating with heat pumps and working toward using no gas at all by 2029. All the electricity we use already comes from renewable sources. Social We believe our people and communities are at the heart of what we do. Our team is well-trained in ethics and compliance, and we foster a diverse, inclusive, and safe workplace. We’re proud of the positive feedback we receive from our customers. We support local communities through storage donations and charity partnerships. Governance We hold ourselves to high standards when it comes to governance and ethics. Half of our non-executive board members are women. We have strong policies to prevent corruption and protect data privacy. Many of our buildings meet top environmental standards, like BREEAM and EPC. We use “Green Bonds” to help fund sustainable projects. More details in our full Sustainability Report
